Police ID Pedestrian Killed Crossing Busy Maryland Intersection

A 58-year-old man was not in a crosswalk when he was struck and killed by a pick-up truck crossing a busy Charles County roadway, investigators say.

Marvin Jesus Mora Rodriguez has been identified by the Charles County Sheriff's Office as the pedestrian who was hit by the truck at around 10 p.m. on Thursday night in Waldorf.

The Waldorf resident was struck by a driver who was making a right turn from Smallwood Drive onto St. Patrick's Drive, and he was not in a crosswalk at the time, officials noted.

Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. The driver remained at the scene to assist investigators on Thursday.

The crash is under investigation.
